Using Safelists for Website Traffic

Safelists are membership sites where members agree to receive email from each other. The email messages are processed by the safelist’s server. You just login to your account, type in your email message, and the safelist does the rest. It’s sort of like a shared opt-in list. If you are just beginning in email marketing, safelists may be a good place for you to start. You have a captive audience that can’t report you as spam.

Using safelists isn’t as good as having your own list because you are competing with so many other people for attention. But safelists are a great way to get your name out there, build your brand, and develop your reputation. Be sure to sign every one of your email messages, and include some contact information, especially your website url, in your signature. It will make you recognizable, increase traffic to your website, and add to your credibility.

You can use safelists as a testing ground. Hone your email marketing skills by testing messages and subject lines in safelists. If you can stand out and get a response on the safelists, you are going to do extremely well with your own opt-in list.

Safelists are a wonderful low-to-no-cost tool for your marketing arsenal. Used correctly, safelists will drive traffic to your website, develop your brand, and build your income all at the same time.
