Managing your traffic exchange accounts
Your traffic exchange accounts are important sources of web site traffic. We all know that logging and surfing everyday is essential to generate web site traffic, but there are a few other things you should do periodically to keep that traffic flowing. Make it a habit to check on the following things once a month when you login to your traffic exchanges.
Do you have credits in your account available to assign?
Even if you have 100% of your surfing earnings auto assigned, you may still have credits available in your account to assign. When you win bonus credits, either through prize pages or bonus credits links or contest winnings, those credits go into your account. You need to assign those credits, or else they will just gather dust in your account.
Do your links still work?
Occasionally programs will take down a splash page. Sometimes programs make changes that force a different structure on the affiliate url link. It doesn’t hurt to double-check that your affiliate pages are still available. That way your credits aren’t wasted on 404 page error messages, or worse yet, wasted on pages that won’t credit you for sales or new signups.
Are there any new banners or text link ads that you want to try?
Check on the click-thru rates on your banners and text link ads. Are they getting any clicks? It may be time to try something new. Test a new banner or text link ad.
Make sure that traffic continues to flow to your web sites. It takes just a couple of minutes to check on your urls, banners, and text link ads. Verify that they are all still working links and working for you.
